If You're at a Crossroads, You're in Good Company

It's not what the naysayers say that is important, it's what you believe that really counts. So let me ask you, what do you believe?
Maybe you're at a crossroads and not sure if you can do it or not. That's okay. Look at some folks who got off to a slow start, had more than their share of detractors, and still did okay:
- Albert Einstein didn't speak until he was nearly 5 years old and was considered "mentally slow."
- The inventor of the steam engine, James Watt, was declared "dull and inept."
- Cartoonist Walt Disney was fired from his first job because he "had no imagination."
- Inventor Thomas Edison was kicked out of school at age 9 because he was at the bottom of his class.
- Basketball legend Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.
Sometimes the experts – and other well-meaning people – are misguided in their efforts or just plain wrong in their thinking. And then there are some people who are just stuck on stupid.
You can measure IQ, but not "want to." It's not the size of the dog in the fight that's important, it's the size of the fight in the dog. They can measure the size your head but not size of the dream in your heart.
So follow your heart as you use your head to develop skills and talents. There is nothing that an inspired you cannot accomplish.

It's Web 1.0 + Web 2.0 = WEB 3.0
As you know, Web 1.0 was simply an acronym for eCommerce. Back then, retail stores wanted to do business on the internet rather than just using expensive retail storefronts. Many saw the power of the internet to attract an entirely new audience that may not have had the chance to visit their store in person. This would without doubt give them access to more potential customers for less cost.
Web 2.0, in its simplest definition and use today, has become an acronym for the everyday person's ability to communicate and collaborate globally using Social Networking. It has made things more user friendly to us, and as such, companies have come to embrace these new design and communication formats to engage with their customers.

I thought this was kind of funny....

" i didn't know what to do today so i went to the center of town and entered a big shop to spent my time.i satayed there about 2-3 hours. when i exite the shop there was a policeman writing a parking ticket, i went to him and said "dear officer,would you not be nice today to a retaiered man ?
the policeman ignored me and continued his work. i called him "dame phashist" ! so he looked at me and started to write another ticket, this time for very used weels of the car. i called him "son of a b....."
he finished writing the second ticket,put the 2 tickets on the car's window and started a thired ticket
this situation continued for about an houre,as much as i called him names as much as he wrote more tickets personally ?

Why You Need a Multi-Channel Approach
Retailers like Walmart, IKEA, and J. Crew reach customers with print catalogs, TV advertising, online ads, and websites. Insurance companies use telemarketing, TV and radio ads, various online channels, direct mail, and print ads. Car dealerships can be found online, in newspapers, through direct mail, and on TV.
To be sure, there are still many successful businesses that practice only one type of marketing. But it is our belief that those companies are an endangered species. Relying on one marketing method to build your business today is like swimming upstream with one hand tied behind your back. It can be done, but it is very difficult... and completely unnecessary.
To be at the top of your game, you need to continue to do what you do so well - the kind of marketing that is now working for you - but you must gradually add new arrows to your quiver. You will notice a sudden and substantial improvement in sales and profits if you do.
Relying on one marketing channel is simply foolish. Even if you choose a lucrative channel, there is no telling when it will change to a mere trickle. You can make temporary adjustments by using marketing tricks - special offers and over-the-top promises. But those gimmicks will not sustain sales for long.

The Principle of One Step Removed

Your chances of success in starting a new business decrease with each step you take away from the business you already know.
Let's say you have a successful neighborhood restaurant called The Steak House. Your basic business is selling a certain kind of eating experience to a local community.
Over a few drinks with friends, you come up with two new business ideas:
1. The first is to open a local restaurant called The Fish House.
2. The second is to go into the wholesale steak-selling business.
Both of these businesses have elements that relate to what you are already doing.
The Fish House is almost identical except for one difference - you will be selling fish, not steak. Everything else - how you attract new customers, how you create a profit margin, and how you control your costs to deliver a bottom line - remains the same.
Starting a wholesale steak-selling business is about selling steaks - and that's what you already do. But in this case, there are many differences. For one thing, the market is different. You are not selling to local diners but to regional businesses. This means the selling strategy is different... which means the profit margin is different. And so on.
Opening The Fish House is an example of starting a new business that is only one step removed from what you know. Opening a wholesale steak business is three or four steps removed.
The first new business idea has a good chance of succeeding. The only unknown: Will there be a big enough local market for fish? The second business idea has a poor chance of succeeding. There are simply too many things you don't know about it.
It is possible to succeed by taking two or three steps away from your core experience. As a rule, though, you want to take one step at a time.

Don’t try everything at once
The amount of time it would take to maintain all those accounts would suck any and all time away from running your business. Plus, by trying to juggle profiles and build networks on too many sites at once, you’d do an ineffective job of marketing.
Start slowly. Maybe even start by surveying your current customers to see which social media site most of them use. Once you dip your toe in and get a feel for how a particular site functions, how its users behave and the kind of content/conversations they respond to, you’ll have a better idea of how that site fits with your message. And once you know that, you’ll know if that is a site to keep and nurture or one to scrap. You can ramp up from there.
If you run a political blog or website, for instance, you may find that Reddit members respond to your content better than Digg members.
Or, if you’re a photographer, you may think it’s a no-brainer to open a Flickr account, only to find that you can get more inquiries from users of Google’s Picasa.
Then there’s Twitter. What can I say about Twitter? I haven’t figured out a good use for it. Dell certainly did. They managed to turn Twitter into a million-dollar sales channel for their computers by using it to alert users of new sales and discounts.
But that’s the beauty of social media. There is no right or wrong way to use it. It’s like every other marketing channel. You have to test to find out what works best for your business.

What is desktop marketing?

Small-business owners may be experts at delivering their particular product or service. But 90% of them lack the ONE skill that will put them over the top: HOW TO MARKET.
Most medium- to large-sized companies have their own marketing and design departments or have service providers in place. But smaller local businesses … the ones right in your back yard … typically don’t have those services readily available to them. They'll have little or no idea of where to find them. And they certainly won’t have a coherent marketing plan.
On top of that, many of these small businesses can’t afford the high prices of typical advertising or marketing agencies. They may try to handle their own marketing in house, only to discover they’re spending far too much time on activities that can be easily outsourced, rather than where they should be spending time – on growing their business.
They need to find a middle ground. They need help from someone who is knowledgeable in many areas and more affordable than hiring an individual for each task.

Squidoo - Content Syndication
You use it like merging and Article Directory and a Blog together, but it also allows you to post pictures, videos, links and links pointing to other relevent content regarding your topic (you can backlink to your articles, press releases or blog posts to boos THEIR search engine exposure).
Squidoo - Created by internet marketing genius, is a powerful tool for publishing content that can rise in the search engines over time if you back it up with a good strategy of back linking from other relevent sites online such as:
EzineArticles.com bio box.Blog Post BacklinksPurchased Backlinks (more on this later)
Step One is to create a compelling article, review or documentary about your chosen keyword phrase (Social Profit Streams, Home Seller Assist, or even a specific home business company of choice).
If your content is spammy, exagerated, or otherwise - unattractive… then NOTHING else matters.
So give some thought… collect some articles or other videos, articles, web content from your sales page… and really review it…
And create content on Squidoo that is relevent and informative.
Search other Squidoo lenses with similar keywords and search other articles to get a sense of other content already out there… use it to help your own writing or creativity…
Ok - you have your content up and this is your “TRAFFIC BAIT” piece. You can always add to it, which is POWERFUL in Squidoo… as you can add videos, links and more article content and expand your lens. More content, more keyword focus… more fresh relevent information for the search engines to find on you.
But now we’ll work on some backlinking, and syndication.
Next go to Pingomatic.com and submit your Squidoo link there so it can be “pinged” and other search engines will know you’ve posted new content.
Same thing on DIGG.com
Same thing on Stumbleupon.com
You need relevant back links to your content so that you can rank higher on the search engines with your content.
This is, again, NOT a full training on this but I’ll give you some quick you can implement to organize your content marketing a bit more…
This is where a personal blog comes in handy… even one on www.Blogger.com (free).
Every article you ever write for any platform should be posted on your own blog.
In this example your “Traffic Bait” piece is your Squidoo Lens created on a focused keyword phrase that you choose.
We are now going to use similar content focused on the same keywords to build a NETWORK of content published on high ranking and relevent sites… and we are going to position “BACK LINKS” on this content, pointing back to your Squidoo Lens…
This is what that means:
Take the same info you wrote about on Squidoo and tweak it up a bit… make it a bit different and unique…
Then post it here:
EzineArticle.com - ArticleYOUR BLOG - Blog PostGoArticle.com - Article Directory
You can post numerous short pieces of content on these places on similar or related topics and always place a back link to your original Squidoo Lens (your main Traffic Bait piece).
The goal is this:
All things considered equal…
He/She with the most relevent backlinks wins. The more backlinks you get compared with your competition to the same keyword… the higher you’ll climb in google.
Now just for some who may not know what a backlink is… it looks like this:
“… so having attended the webinar coaching session the other night and being intrigued about the concept of WEB3.0 - Social Profit Streams, I decided to become involved and start sharing the information and increase awareness about this professional group. I’ve documented my findings and research on this and have posted details about Social Profit Streams here…”
[See it's simple. You write your main keyword phrase that you're trying to rank for and just link it to whatever site you are working on getting ranked in the search engines. I linked to the actual lead capture page, but in our training today, you'd link that keyword phrase to your Squidoo lens on that keyword phrase... pretty simple!]
IT TAKES TIME. You can’t post too many back links too fast when you’re building up new, fresh content. You have to discipline yourself the first couple weeks to only about 2-3 backlinks per day tops.
Later - as your content is more “seasoned” and not so new… you can add more links per day and to google, this will appear more “organic” or natural… and you’ll climb to the top of google faster than your competion…
SO the point for today was… many people were asking about Blog and Squidoo “training” and here it is… it would be intelligent to start to position your “Traffic Bait” pieces on Squidoo, Blog, Ezines etc…
But choose only your BEST as the “Traffic Bait” piece…
And then use OTHER content which could be shorter pieces… in the other platforms to help you start building a LONG TERM PRESENCE and EXPOSURE on the free side of the listings so that you’ll generate consistent, daily traffic to your content which will of course be directed to your lead capture page… which is the whole idea.
But for now, let’s keep it simple… Go search for some related Squidoo lenses to get an idea of what they look like… create your own free account and build your first lens!

Wall Street Journal Validates Web 3.0 - Social Profit Streams
I came across this article…FASCINATING and extremely VALIDATING! It’s an absolute MUST READ. Here is a snippet of the article if you don’t have time to read the entire thing:
